Job description

An established UK financial services organisation is seeking a Director of Data & Analytics to define and lead its group wide data strategy. This senior leadership role will shape a modern data architecture, build a high?performing data function, and drive the adoption of advanced analytics and AI across the business. You will lead a large disparate team covering data engineering, analytics, and data science, and will play a pivotal role in embedding data literacy, strengthening governance, and enabling insight driven decisionmaking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and deliver the organisation's end to end data strategy
  • Lead the design of modern cloudbased data platforms and scalable architecture
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to drive strategic insight initiatives
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high performing multidisciplinary data team
  • Champion enterprise wide data adoption and literacy
  • Strengthen data governance, quality, and lifecycle management
  • Ensure resilient, well operated data services with strong controls and monitoring

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience across data engineering, analytics and/or data science
  • Background in financial services or other regulated environments
  • Strategic thinker with experience delivering enterprise grade data frameworks
  • Strong communicator able to influence across senior stakeholders
  • Experienced in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and modern data tooling
  • Skilled in coaching and developing diverse technical teams
  • Adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable driving change
