Job description
- Works under the direction of the Application Programming supervisor.
- Installs and maintains operating system and vendor software products in support of Registry functions in a mixed zNSE, zNM mainframe and client server environment.
- Provides analysis and implements appropriate measures for software/hardware requirements and problem resolution.
- Perform necessary programming services to include coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of programs to automate and enhance operating system and vendor software functionality.

Requirements
Do you have experience in TCP/IP?, * Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier Ill background investigation, Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- One year specialized system software installation programming experience sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skill in:
- Installation and maintenance of VM and VSE operating system software.
- Computer center processes, operation and generally accepted business practices in a multi-platform system architecture environment.
- IBM system zSeries compatible equipment and software systems.
- Installing and configuring system software with multiple virtual machines for production and application testing.
- Software testing and problem solving techniques
- IT Security systems.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- In addition, must possess expert knowledge of installation and maintenance of all or the majority of the following areas: VM, VSE, CICS, TCP/IP, VTAM, Power, JCL, COBOL, REXX and Assembler language.
