Job description
As a Database Administrator at Options Technology, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of mission-critical database systems that support low-latency trading, real-time analytics, and enterprise operations. You'll work within a global team to ensure high performance, and security., * Administer and support Oracle, SQL Server and Postgres environments including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.
- Manage backup and recovery strategies and support high availability solutions.
- Perform performance monitoring and tuning of SQL queries and database systems.
- Provide support for Microsoft Azure environments, including Azure SQL Databases and databases hosted on Azure Virtual Machines.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot database-related incidents in production environments.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support and participate in incident response for critical systems.
- Automate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell, Shell scripting, Puppet and Ansible.
- Collaborate with cross-functional to support project delivery and operational stability.
- Create, maintain, and update technical documentation and runbooks.

We're looking for someone who has technical proficiency in:
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience working with relational databases and SQL performance tuning.
- Solid working knowledge of backup: RMAN, DataPump, dbatools, pgbackrest.
- High availability solutions including DataGuard, AlwaysOn and Streaming replication.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Basic Unix/Linux administration skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform effective root cause analysis., * Strong research, writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changeable working environment.
- Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Desire to travel and see the world.
