Job description

  • Design of databases (SQL y non-SQL).
  • Data batch transfers.
  • Integration of databases and ETL processes.
  • Implementation of pseudonymisation tool recommended by the European Commission.
  • Management of the platforms used for data collection.
  • Lead discussions with different IT teams., Interviews: Meetings may be held with Talent Acquisition and/or the hiring manager.

Practical assessment: Depending on the role, candidates may complete a case study, technical task, presentation, or written exercise, on-site or remotely.

Checks: Education, references, and other job-related verifications may be carried out.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Master's degree?, In this context, we are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven and committed professional who will support our group in database management, databases interoperability and IT related tasks., * University degree in area of Engineer or Computer Science (e.g. IT Engineer, Computer Science), or University degree in Sciences

  • English (B2). We are working at European level and have frequent meetings in English

Desired:

  • Master's degree in a field related to the responsibilities of this job position (e.g. Bioinformatics, Statistics)

Experience and knowledge:

Required:

  • Knowledge of data architecture
  • Knowledge on computer systems (to be able to lead discussions with different IT teams, to propose improvements to the platform)
  • Knowledge of programming languages (PHP, HTML, SQL)

Desired:

  • Knowledge of common data models
  • Experience with multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of R/Python

Labour conditions:

  • Full-time position: 37,5h/week
  • Starting date: As soon as possible
  • Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale

About the company

The University Hospital Vall d'Hebron is highly specialised in rare diseases at regional, national and international level with its incorporation as a full member of 20 of the 24 European Reference Networks (ERN). The scientific coordination of the ERN-EuroBloodNet, www.eurobloodnet.eu, the ERN dedicated to Rare Haematological Diseases (RHD), is led by Dr Mañú Pereira, Head of the Rare Anaemia Disorders Research Laboratory within the "CANCER Y ENFERMEDADES HEMATOLOGICAS INFANTILES" group at VHIR. The research strategy of our research laboratory focuses on the development and validation of innovative methodological approaches for better characterisation of patients affected by rare anaemia disorders according to their individual features to enable personalised risk profiles and personalised medicine. Within the ERN-EuroBloodNet and in line with the strategy at European level, the team is leading several projects on European patient registries for rare haematological diseases, namely, the European Patients Registries on Rare Haematological Diseases, ENROL, and on Rare Anaemia Disorders, RADeep, aiming at avoiding fragmentation of data by promoting standards interoperability between patient registries.
