Job description
- Own, manage and develop the GIS infrastructure used by the firm.
- Manage delivery of GIS project work in the rural, energy, forestry and commercial sectors.
- Lead and mentor a team of GIS Consultants.
To be Successful
You will be comfortable leading a team, engaging with colleagues and clients to define requirements, and producing workflows and products that align with the needs of the firm and deliver value to its clients. You should be comfortable with the tools and activities listed below as you will be expected to be 'hands-on' with the technical component of the role. Most importantly you should have a real enthusiasm for using GIS in interesting ways, the drive to develop new skills and an aptitude for applying these to solve problems.
Requirements
- FME Form and FME Flow
- PostgreSQL/PostGIS
- GeoServer
- ArcGIS Online
- Experience administrating ArcGIS Online Organisations.
- Python for process automation and QGIS plugin development.
- SQL for query and administration of spatial databases.
- Extract Transform Load (ETL) workflow design.
- Spatial database design and management.
Desirable:
- Experience using APIs to integrate software platforms.
- Knowledge of Ordnance Survey data purchase and licensing models.
- Previous experience in the the rural, energy, forestry or commercial sectors.
- Accreditation via an appropriate professional body (Royal Geographical Society, RICS etc)
You will be able to communicate effectively at all levels with internal and external clients and be calm under pressure. You will have proven organisational skills and demonstrate the ability to prioritise effectively whilst upholding meticulous attention to detail. We are looking for an individual who will thrive as part of a friendly and collegiate team with a real interest in what they do and a commitment to delivering consistently high levels of service.
You must hold a full clean driving licence.
Benefits & conditions
The role is offered on a full-time basis, Monday - Thursday 9am-5.30pm & Friday 9am-5pm, a total of 37hrs per week. This is a hybrid role, with two days in the office and 3 days based at home.
