Job description

We are looking for a Web Developer / PHP developer to join the Digital Education Office. The post supports the wider objectives of the Digital Education Office to develop excellence in delivering innovative Medical Education programmes and improving the student experience. The postholder will contribute to shaping and delivering Digital Education Strategy for the Faculty of Medicine and help us to create world-class training and education for future doctors., You will work closely with academic and administrative colleagues within the Faculty and will be contributing to the development, delivery and maintenance of Student/Staff Portal created in PHP. You will also help identify other areas of improvement in the Faculty's digital processes and suggest sustainable and scalable solutions.

Other duties will include helping with technical customer support queries via our internal ticket system and writing support documentation for both technical and non-technical end users.

Requirements

Do you have experience in WordPress?, You will have proven experience in web development using WordPress, as well as experience with JavaScript ES6+, PHP 8+ and Laravel. You will have a strong understanding of best practice in standards-compliancy for accessibility and usability issues. You will also have experience of delivering projects to high standards with minimal supervision to tight deadlines and the ability to assist in defining project scope, timelines and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
