Front End Developer

We are looking for a Front-End Developer to design and build modern, user-friendly web applications. The primary focus is on Front End development with Angular and TypeScript, but the role requires awareness of Java-based APIs and Back End services to collaborate effectively with the full-stack team., * Develop responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces using Angular and TypeScript.

• Work closely with designers to translate UI/UX wireframes into clean, maintainable code.
• Integrate Front End components with REST APIs (Java-based back-end).
• Contribute to end-to-end feature delivery (from design through to deployment).
• Support testing, debugging, and optimisation across multiple browsers/devices.
• Assist with Back End tasks when needed (basic API integration, service updates, database queries).
• Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and collaborate within a cross-functional team.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience with Angular (preferred), or another modern framework such as React/Vue.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON data handling.
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility.
• Git/GitHub or similar version control.
• Awareness of Java Back End services and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Familiar with the GDS Design System

Desirable

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud hosting (Azure/AWS).
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, Jasmine, Cypress).
• Exposure to microservices environments or containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).
• NGRX (Redux), jest unit tests and E2E testing need to add also
