Job description

We're looking for a detail-driven and proactive Digital Content & Website Executive to join the West Midlands Growth Company. If you enjoy working with digital content, organising information, and ensuring platforms remain accurate and credible, this is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in digital content management., As our new Digital Content & Website Executive, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the quality, accuracy and credibility of our core websites - supporting Invest West Midlands and a range of additional WMGC digital platforms.

This is a junior, detail-focused position ideal for someone building their digital career who enjoys working with content, data, structure and information. You'll take ownership of day-to-day content updates, ensure pages remain accurate and compliant, and support the wider digital team with essential maintenance and improvements.

You'll help ensure our digital foundations are strong, well-governed and ready to support major campaigns, business engagement and long-term regional growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintain and update core pages on InvestWestMidlands.com, including sector and proposition content.
  • Carry out routine CMS updates such as copy changes, page refreshes and minor structural improvements.
  • Monitor website content for relevance and accuracy, flagging items that require review or action.
  • Ensure facts, statistics and claims are accurate and aligned with verified source data.
  • Work with internal teams to check and update key information used across website pages.
  • Maintain trackers and logs to ensure consistency in data, claims and messaging.
  • Identify and fix issues including broken links, outdated references and formatting inconsistencies.
  • Ensure updates meet accessibility, brand and content standards.
  • Support digital governance processes and content approval workflows.
  • Assist with periodic audits of core website content to prioritise improvements.
  • Provide support to other WMGC sites such as VisitBirmingham.com, MeetBirmingham.com and WMgrowth.com.
  • Manage clearly scoped admin-style digital tasks to support senior digital roles.
  • Support website updates during peak periods, campaigns and major events.
  • Help maintain shared planning tools, trackers and update logs.
  • Flag risks or emerging issues early to support informed digital decision-making.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SEO?, * Early experience working with digital content or websites (junior role, internship or placement).

  • Confidence using a CMS to update and maintain web pages.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical, structured approach to work.
  • Interest in digital accuracy, content governance and information integrity.
  • Willingness to check facts and question unclear or outdated information.
  • Ability to stay organised and manage tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Clear communicator who works well within a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting multi-page or multi-site content environments.
  • Basic understanding of SEO or how content structure influences discoverability.
  • Familiarity with tools such as GA4 or Search Console.
  • Awareness of accessibility standards or digital compliance.
  • Experience working in public sector, B2B or multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Understanding of structured content reviews, audits or tracking processes.
