Job description
We are recruiting an Infrastructure Engineer to join the Technical team at Hyve Managed Hosting.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the technological backbone of our organization's IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems while also contributing to the continuous improvement of our infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into infrastructure solutions.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain servers, networks, storage, and other infrastructure components.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Ensure system security by implementing best practices, security policies, and access controls.
- Design and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
- Conduct regular backup and recovery testing to validate the effectiveness of the disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment of infrastructure solutions with business objectives.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Virtualization?, Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.
- Proficiency in system administration of Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of security best practices and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a Data Centre environment
- Perfect written and spoken English
- Clean UK driving license
