Job description
Vercors Games is a Madrid-based studio of industry veterans developing a high-fidelity AA/AAA cross-platform title. We are looking for a Senior Game Tech Engineer to oversee the technical development of key gameplay systems and ensure they meet the highest standards of performance and scalability.
** Responsibilities:**
- Core Systems:
Own and manage core gameplay systems, with deep knowledge of UE5 World Partition and Streaming to manage open-world memory budgets.
- Gameplay Engineering:
Implement smooth and responsive character controllers, camera systems, behaviour trees, and state machines using C++ and Blueprints.
- Collaboration:
Work alongside designers and artists to ensure technical execution aligns with creative goals.
Requirements
5+ years in AAA game development; comfortable acting as the primary technical owner for a vertical slice.
- Core Systems:
Deep knowledge of UE5 World Partition and Streaming to manage open-world memory budget and UE5 featureset
- Gameplay Engineering:
Proven ability to implement smooth Character Controllers, Camera Systems, and state machines using C++ and Blueprints.
- Rendering:
Ability to extend the render pipeline and optimize shaders (HLSL/USF) to hit visual targets.
- CICD - Advanced knowledge of Perforce.
- Optimization: Mastery of profiling tools (Unreal Insights, RenderDoc) to ensure 60fps performance on target hardware.
