IoT Devices - Operations & Integration Expert

We are a fast-growing, innovative startup seeking a young, driven, and technically skilled IoT Systems & Controls Engineer with relevant experience with SQL databases and Thingsboard. Currently working with a startup energy monitoring company specializing in the installation of monitoring devices and the collection of live performance data. In this role, the consultant not only interprets complex data streams but also provides customer-facing insights and tailored recommendations to help clients optimize their energy usage, reduce consumption, to help cut costs.

IoT & Operations & Device Management

• Lead operations expert, responsible for systems and device integration, management and operations.
• Setting up and managing data connections between devices and databases/platforms
• Configuring and provisioning devices prior to installation
• Installing and commissioning IoT devices and sensors
• Testing and validating devices before and after deployment
• Monitoring device connectivity via internally built and managed NOC systems
• Resolving connectivity issues, alarms, and system faults
• Checking data quality and performing optimizations and calibrations
• Supporting software R&D, integrations and acceptance testing

Data & Software Development

• Creating and maintaining scripts for automated data gathering and transmission
• Developing and maintaining client dashboards and access control systems
• Analysing data for consistency, control optimisation, and system calibration
• Performing manual SQL database checks when required
• Supporting project software R&D and system integration
• Conducting integration support and acceptance testing

Client & Project Support

• Acting as liaison for client feedback, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance
• Supporting ongoing improvements and system optimisation initiatives.

Core Skills

• Database design & management (SQL, Python, cloud-based platforms-Azure/AWS)
• Experience with Git and version control workflows
• Good communication skills towards customers and internal teams, both in Dutch and English
• Programming:
• Python (Automatic data gathering/sending scripts from and to different APIs)
• C# (HTTP(s) and MQTT server + scripting to SQL database)
• JavaScript (device software + dashboard)
• HTML + CSS (dashboard customizing)
• SQL (manual checks on SQL database)
• Data visualization & reporting (Power BI, Tableau, Excel, R/Python libraries)
• Live monitoring data analysis & device integration
• Customer-facing consulting & stakeholder engagement
