Job description

We are a fast-growing InsurTech organisation delivering modern, cloud-native solutions to the insurance market. Our platforms are hosted entirely within AWS and power critical workflows across claims, underwriting and customer engagement.

We operate in cross-functional Agile squads and place strong emphasis on engineering excellence, DevOps maturity and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Lead Front-End Developer to provide technical leadership across our front-end estate.

You will be responsible for setting standards, shaping architecture, mentoring engineers and ensuring consistent, high-quality front-end delivery across multiple products built in Angular, VueJS and React.

This role combines technical depth with leadership influence. You will work closely with Product, UX, Back-End, DevOps and Architecture to deliver scalable, secure and performant user experiences.

  • Champion automated testing (unit, integration, E2E) and CI/CD best practices.

  • Work closely with DevOps to ensure optimal deployment pipelines.

  • Support observability and monitoring strategies (e.g. logging, telemetry, performance tracking).

Cloud & Integration

  • Contribute to decisions around authentication and authorisation (e.g. OKTA).

Mentoring & People Development

  • Mentor and coach full-stack developers across squads.

  • Support career development, technical growth and knowledge sharing.

  • Contribute to Communities of Practice and technical forums.

Agile & Delivery

  • Work within Scrum-based delivery teams.

  • Contribute to refinement, estimation and Definition of Ready / Done standards.

  • Support predictable delivery with strong say/do discipline and JIRA hygiene.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Angular, VueJS and/or React.

  • Deep understanding of JavaScript / TypeScript.

  • Experience with state management patterns (Redux, Vuex, NgRx or similar).

  • Experience consuming RESTful APIs and working within microservice architectures.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control.

Desirable

  • Experience working within AWS-hosted environments.

  • Exposure to DevSecOps tooling (e.g. Snyk).

  • Experience leading cross-squad technical initiatives.

Personal Attributes
