Job description

  • Lead mechanical design for data centres across concept, scheme, and detailed stages.
  • Provide expertise in cooling systems, CRAH/CRAC, chilled water, DX, heat rejection, ventilation, and resilience strategies (N+1, N+N, Tier II-IV).
  • Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, CIBSE, and relevant international standards.
  • Review and sign off mechanical calculations, specifications, schematics, and design packages.
  • Mentor, support, and develop mechanical engineers within the team.
  • Champion energy-efficient, scalable, and low-carbon mechanical solutions.
  • Represent the mechanical discipline in client workshops, technical meetings, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Chartered (CEng) or working towards it (IMechE or CIBSE).
  • Strong experience delivering mechanical design for data centres or other mission-critical environments.
  • Proficient with industry tools (IES, CFD awareness, Revit MEP, AutoCAD).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
