Job description
We're looking for a Principal Storage Engineer who lives at the intersection of Java expertise and deep distributed storage knowledge. You've built and architected storage systems that handle real enterprise scale, you understand consensus and replication from the inside, and you know what it takes to lead that work across an engineering organization. You'll be defining the storage architecture for a platform that some of the world's largest enterprises rely on to manage and protect their most critical data - a role where your decisions carry lasting technical weight.
What You'll Do:
- Own the end-to-end storage architecture strategy for distributed storage systems built in Java.
- Design and deliver replication, high-availability, and fault-tolerance frameworks at enterprise scale.
- Apply authoritative knowledge of consensus protocols (RAFT, Paxos, Ratis) to solve the hardest distributed coordination challenges.
- Define storage engineering standards and lead their adoption across multiple engineering teams.
- Partner with senior leadership to align storage platform strategy with long-term product and business goals.
- Mentor principal, staff, and senior engineers and shape the overall storage engineering culture.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, * 10+ years of experience in IT roles.
- 5+ years of experience with Java as a primary language, with a focus on storage systems engineering.
- Expert-level knowledge of distributed storage architecture, replication design, and consistency mechanisms.
- Deep, hands-on experience with consensus protocols such as RAFT, Paxos, or Apache Ratis in production.
- Proven track record designing high-availability storage systems for enterprise-grade environments.
- Demonstrated organizational influence and technical leadership at a Principal or equivalent level.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
