Job description

We are seeking a technically strong Web Application Diagnostics Engineer with an advanced understanding of how modern web applications function.

This role focuses on diagnosing website breakage, authentication failures, redirect issues, CORS errors, header misconfigurations, and session handling problems within controlled or security-restricted browsing environments.

You will work at the intersection of web applications, browser behaviour, and access controls identifying root causes and defining clear remediation steps., * Diagnose complex web application behaviour issues (sessions, cookies, redirects, caching, headers, CORS)

  • Analyse browser Developer Tools output (Network waterfall, HAR files, console errors)
  • Investigate authentication and SSO flows (SAML, OAuth, Azure AD, Okta)
  • Identify root cause of compatibility issues in Proxy/isolation/controlled browsing environments
  • Configure and tune web access policies (allow/deny rules, compatibility exceptions)
  • Document repeatable configurations and produce clear technical runbooks
  • Collaborate with security, desktop, vendor and network teams

Requirements

This is not a service desk role. It requires strong analytical ability and deep knowledge of web technologies., * Advanced understanding of HTTP/HTTPS and the web request life cycle

  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Sessions & cookies
  • Redirect chains
  • Headers & CORS
  • Caching behaviour
  • Confident using browser Developer Tools and analysing HAR files
  • Experience troubleshooting web application behaviour in enterprise environments
  • Ability to interpret (but not necessarily write) JavaScript-related console errors
  • Strong problem-solving and clear communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience integrating web applications with security or access controls
  • Understanding of web security principles (secure headers, session risks, authentication flows, least privilege)
  • Exposure to secure web gateways/isolation platforms
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, proxies)
  • Basic Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
