"Our Cloud Engineering team is looking for an experienced and passionate Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on development experience. As a Cloud Engineer you'll be an active and leading member of a cloud-focused team of engineers - working on one of the Group's flagship projects to deliver a strategic platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that will enable the business to realise the next generation of services that form the Bank's vision for 2020 and beyond!
The role will have end-to-end accountabilities including:
Shaping GCP and Cloud-technology roadmaps
Finding opportunities & use-cases for new features and cloud-based products
Collaboratively working with the business and other engineering teams to design then build and release enterprise-class solutions that progress the programme's roadmap
Appreciation for implications of operating in an enterprise environment
Ensuring released services are resilient and optimised for cost and scalability
Requirements
Ability to write scripts in the following languages: BASH, Python, Groovy
Recent practical experience using Google SDK to deliver APIs + automation
Delivered platforms based on the principles of Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Terraform Cloud
Pipeline + automation: Understanding of Jenkins and how to extend it an
Recent experience using Kubernetes
Experience working with a broad set of GCP services
Source code management using Git/Github
To understand and be able to write, parse, process: JSON and YAML
A solid understanding of Cloud Security
