Job description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Manager to oversee and coordinate our organisation's information technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing server environments, ensuring information and network security, and leading technical support initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of IT professionals in a fast-paced environment, implementing innovative solutions to optimise operational efficiency and security., * Manage and maintain server environments, including Windows Server, Linux, VMware, vSphere, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Oversee network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Cisco routers, firewalls, and network support systems.
- Implement and monitor information security protocols to safeguard organisational data against unauthorised access or cyber threats.
- Develop disaster recovery plans and ensure system resilience through effective backup strategies.
- Lead projects involving cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, integrating them with existing systems.
- Supervise technical support teams providing desktop support, remote access solutions, and troubleshooting assistance.
- Utilise tools such as SolarWinds, ServiceNow, Jira, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office suite for system management and reporting.
- Oversee network engineering activities including DHCP, IIS, Active Directory, and network infrastructure upgrades.
- Conduct analysis of system performance metrics to identify areas for improvement or expansion.
- Manage team members' performance through leadership and supervising experience while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL standards and organisational policies relating to information security and service delivery.
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate seamless integration of new technologies or software development initiatives.
Requirements
Do you have experience in vSphere?, * Extensive knowledge of server management, systems engineering, and computer networking principles.
- Proficiency in managing network security measures including firewalls, Cisco routers, VPNs, and remote access software.
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery planning and implementation strategies.
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS and Azure along with virtualisation platforms like VMware vSphere.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server environments (including Active Directory), Linux systems, SharePoint, SQL Server, IIS, DHCP, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to lead complex projects using project management methodologies; excellent organisational skills are essential.
- Analytical skills to evaluate system performance data effectively; problem-solving capabilities are vital.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders alike.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with supervising experience in a technical environment; ability to motivate teams towards shared goals.
