Job description

Drive the future of automotive diagnostics. In this challenging role, you take ownership of developing and testing critical diagnostic software for high-tech heavy-duty vehicles. Using your expertise in OTX and ODX, you realize the Bootloader Update functionality, ensuring vehicles remain operational worldwide. Are you ready to leave a lasting mark on the automotive industry?

As a Diagnostic Software Engineer at a leading international automotive manufacturer, you are the architect who translates abstract technical documentation into tangible innovations. You operate within the Diagnostics department, the driving force behind advanced software used globally in after-sales.

You are not a spectator, but a director in Grade-X. You work on solutions that make vehicles smarter and safer, bridging the gap between product development and practical application. You don't stop at coding; you validate your work directly on the test bench and on the vehicle to guarantee the highest security and quality standards.

Your core tasks as a Diagnostic Software Engineer:

  • Analyze: You translate Product Development specifications into clear bootloader requirements;
  • Develop: You build high-quality content according to OTX and ODX standards within Grade-X;
  • Implement: You integrate the Bootloader Update flow with backend systems and security authentication;
  • Validate: You execute rigorous tests on both simulated ECUs and physical vehicles;
  • Report: You monitor progress and proactively advise management on the status.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Development, Automotive Engineering, or a related field;
  • Proven expertise in automotive diagnostics, specifically with OTX, ODX and Grade-X;
  • Experience working in Agile environments and Scrum methodologies;
  • Willingness to work primarily on-site in the Eindhoven region for optimal alignment and access to test vehicles.

Competenties

You are a driven expert who looks beyond the code. With your analytical mindset, you grasp complex specifications effortlessly and translate them into logical software flows. You are a team player who believes in combining talents to achieve collective goals. Your communication style is clear and strategic, ensuring stakeholders always know where they stand. Furthermore, you show courage by implementing improvements in error handling and logging decisively.

Benefits & conditions

Your talent and dedication deserve a progressive benefits package that facilitates your growth. As a professional at Randstad Professional, you can count on:

  • A employment contract with Randstad Professional.
  • A gross monthly salary between €4700 and €6000, depending on your experience and network.
  • 25 vacation days.
  • An individual choice budget (IKB), including 8% holiday allowance, the option to purchase additional leave days annually, flexible utilization of public holidays, and the possibility of tax-efficient exchanges.
  • An attractive market bonus and an outperformance bonus.
  • An attractive mobility scheme.
  • A laptop and phone (via the 'Choose Your Own Phone' scheme with subscription) and a fixed internet allowance.
