Job description

A well-established, mid-size Managed Service Provider based in Basingstoke is looking for a Senior Support Engineer to step into a technical lead role. Supporting a diverse client base across Hampshire, you'll join a highly capable technical department delivering advanced 3rd line support and leading project delivery. This is the ideal role for an engineer who enjoys deep technical problem-solving, thrives in a multi-client environment, and wants to take ownership of solutions, standards, and technical direction. The Role You'll act as a senior escalation point for complex issues while also delivering hands-on project work across Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and on-prem infrastructure. You'll work closely with the Head of Technical Services to shape best practice, mentor engineers, and ensure clients receive a consistently high-quality service., * Provide expert-level 3rd line support across Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server, and networking

  • Lead technical delivery for migrations, deployments, and infrastructure upgrades
  • Act as an escalation point for the service desk and support engineers
  • Troubleshoot complex multi-site, multi-platform issues
  • Work directly with clients to scope, plan, and deliver technical projects
  • Contribute to technical strategy, documentation, and process improvement
  • Support the development of junior and mid-level engineers What You'll Bring

Requirements

  • Strong experience in an MSP or multi-client support environment
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server, and Active Directory
  • Confident handling complex networking, security, and infrastructure challenges
  • Experience delivering technical projects end-to-end
  • Ability to lead by example, communicate clearly, and build trust with clients
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a passion for technology
