Job description

  • Participate actively in the maintenance and evolution of the IT infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of good practices across the entire scope.
  • Design and deploy solutions aimed at simplifying infrastructures and automating recurring tasks (via PowerShell, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, OpCon, etc.).
  • Contribute to systems management processes, in line with objectives of reliability, security, performance, and complexity reduction.
  • Ensure the operational maintenance of systems while anticipating necessary evolutions to meet future needs.
  • Participate in technological monitoring and propose relevant evolutions to advance the technical environment of FHVi, particularly in infrastructure management.
  • Collaborate in managing the IT infrastructure and associated equipment (servers, storage, etc.).
  • Install and configure servers according to established procedures and best practices.
  • Manage the lifecycle of IT infrastructure components: updates, upgrades, service renewals, decommissioning of obsolete systems.
  • Monitor systems via monitoring tools and ensure resilience and security.
  • Provide level 2 and 3 support in relation to requests and incidents reported via the service management tool.
  • Document procedures, workflows, and good practices to ensure the sustainability of knowledge within the team.
  • Participate in on-call services according to established modalities.

Requirements

  • Higher education (Bachelor or Masters degree), or equivalent title.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a systems engineer in a similar role, ideally in a complex environment.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting: OpCon, Terraform, Puppet, PowerShell, Ansible.
  • Proficiency in VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, cluster management, and resource management.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure monitoring with tools such as Zabbix (deployment, proactive monitoring).
  • Proficiency in backup solutions: Veeam Backup & Replication (or similar tool), disaster recovery/business continuity.
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem: Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, PKI, WSUS, RDS farms.
  • Good understanding of complex architectures: high availability, active-active configuration, security by design, load balancing, NAS/SAN storage, firewalls, schedulers, networks, SSO, monitoring, VPN, messaging.
  • Knowledge of Linux environments: scripting, operating in professional infrastructures; holding certifications (Microsoft, VMware, etc.) is considered an asset.
  • Ability to analyze the needs of stakeholders and translate them into relevant technical solutions.
  • Aptitude for solving complex problems independently while effectively collaborating with other team members.
  • Overall capacity to align technical choices with long-term objectives and needs; ability to anticipate technological changes to suggest ongoing improvements.
  • Rigor, sense of responsibility, and good writing skills, particularly for technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to various audiences (technical and non-technical).
  • Team spirit, service orientation, and a desire to share knowledge.
  • French: excellent oral and written proficiency.
  • English: ability to express oneself clearly in a professional context (technical exchanges, etc.).

Benefits & conditions

Salary: CHF 80'000 - 110'000 per year
