Job description

Derby County are seeking to recruit a Senior IT Technician to join the Technology Services Department at Pride Park Stadium.

At Derby County Football Club, you will become part of a supportive and collaborative Technology team, playing an essential role in keeping the Club's operations running smoothly.

Based across Pride Park Stadium and the Training Centre, you will provide hands-on end-user support and work closely with the Head of IT & Data Services and the wider Technology team to ensure the stability, security and performance of the Club's IT infrastructure and services.

Following the Department's Standard Operating Procedures, you will help develop, maintain and continuously improve the Club's IT environment, including servers, end-user devices and network infrastructure. You will also be a key point of contact for colleagues across the Club, managing helpdesk requests with a friendly and professional approach, ensuring issues are acknowledged, escalated or resolved efficiently while delivering a consistently high standard of service.

Key Role Responsibilities:

· Support the delivery of IT projects and the development, maintenance and monitoring of the Club's software and hardware infrastructure across the Stadium and Training Centre.

· Provide day-to-day IT support, including setting up, configuring and troubleshooting end-user devices and network equipment, both remotely and on-site.

· Assist with the maintenance and effective use of core systems and services, including Microsoft 365.

· Maintain accurate records of IT assets, ensuring hardware, software and licences are tracked throughout their lifecycle.

· Promote good digital and information security practices and support periodic reviews and audits.

· Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge base resources for the IT team and end users.

· Deliver on-site IT support for home fixtures and Club events, ensuring system availability at all times.

· Proactively contribute ideas to improve processes and services by keeping up to date with emerging technologies.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in macOS?, · More than 3 years providing 2nd/3rd line IT support via telephone, remote and in-person for a fast-paced business.

· At least 3 years assisting with administering hybrid Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and associated services (e.g. Azure/Entra, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).

· At least 5 years of experience configuring/troubleshooting complex networks and understanding of core principles (e.g. switches, LAN/vLAN), including HPE/Aruba and Cisco switches.

· At least 3 years of installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows Server, MacOS, and iOS devices both at the per-device and at the Enterprise level.

· Ability to terminate Cat5/6 cables.

Desirable personal characteristics and experience:

· At least 3 years of managing on-premises Windows Servers and Hyper-V (or a similar cluster solution) with Active Directory.

· At least 2 years' experience working in a similar role within the professional sports industry.

· Ability to Fibre Splice.

· Implementing PowerShell, Batch File or PowerAutomate scripts.

Qualifications:

Essential

· Degree (or equivalent) IT-based qualification.

· Full UK driving license.

Desirable

· Cisco CCNA, Microsoft MCP, MSCE (or similar) qualification.

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week and due to the demands of professional football, there is a requirement for weekend and evening work to support the matchday operation.
