In this role, you will develop the platforms necessary to meet the data needs of our business units. You will also:
- Implement scalable data pipelines, ETL processes and data storage solutions
- Ensure data quality and integrity through data validation and transformation processes
- Turn requirements into working solutions by collaborating with data scientists, analysts and other stakeholders
- Boost performance and cost efficiencies by monitoring and optimizing data workflows
- Lead and inspire mid-level and junior engineers
Requirements
bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, You are an experienced data engineer capable of working comfortably across data and platform engineering projects. Proactive, with a passion for technology, you exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You collaborate easily with cross-functional teams and stakeholders and are able to convey complex ideas simply and drive innovation and continuous improvement around you. As a leader, you can empower your team to deliver high-quality code and reach its goals. You also have:
- At least 6 years of experience in a similar role and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven track record in coaching and leading high-performing engineering teams
- A DevOps mindset, knowledge of Engineering design patterns, best practices and experience building data pipelines and platforms using Databricks on Azure or AWS
- Extensive experience with languages and frameworks such as Python, SQL, and (Py)Spark
- Solid understanding of Data Platform concepts with hands-on experience designing and building ETL pipelines
- Familiarity with an Agile environment where collaboration and continuous improvement are foundational
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques such as 3NF, dimensional modeling, and medallion architectures
