Job description

Shropshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced person to join our ICT Cybersecurity team. The ICT Cybersecurity Analyst position is a key role within the team, which itself forms part of a wider Infrastructure and Security team of approx. 14. Working alongside other analysts, this role will help to protect the Shropshire Council ICT estate from a variety of potential external and internal threats through numerous activities and responsibilities such as:

  • Helping to identify and close vulnerabilities and mitigate risks
  • Responding to incidents and requests
  • Detailed case analysis
  • Working through and responding to audit requirements
  • Monitoring and alerting
  • Acting as a security advisor to a variety of stakeholders
  • Working closely with partners and third partner suppliers

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced person to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Cybersecurity best practise and trends, a high degree of technical knowledge and experience working with both internal and external stakeholders.

We're looking for a candidate who has a minimum of 5 years' experience delivering 3rd line security support. Excellent communication skills are also critical to this role. You will need to be self-motivating and able to work to key deadlines
