General Dynamics UK is looking to recruit a Maintenance Training Specialist reporting directly to the Training Lead. The successful candidate will be a key player within the training team. The role will place significant demands on their vehicle Electronic Technician Engineering knowledge and training experience. The role will require close liaison and co-operation with the system engineering and integration subject matter experts and the platform & domain expertise residing in the wider GD businesses.
The Maintenance Training Specialist will be based at the Merthyr Tydfil but will be required to travel to customer sites to deliver electronic and weapons maintenance courses
Due to the security sensitivity aspect of the role, this job is only opened to applicants who can achieve SC clearance level

Physical Effort
Little chance of injury. Duties may involve sitting, standing, keyboarding with frequent flexible breaks., The Maintenance Training Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Delivering electronic and weapons maintenance courses to the customer and business
- Manage and be responsible for collating Inval and Exval reports and updating training course documentation as required.
- Attended workshops to supporting Training Systems Engineering as an SME to develop training simulation equipment.
- Validated CBT to the latest engineering release for update by stakeholders.

Education & Experience
Required Education & Experience
Essential
- At least 7 years of experience in Tech/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
- In depth Armoured Fighting Vehicle experience
- Military Electronic Technician Class 1 / Degree / NVQ and/or City & Guilds Level 3
- Experience in delivering maintenance training courses.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Higher Education qualification in an engineering discipline
- Previous experience on maintaining vehicle weapons systems
