Job description
As a Technical Specialist - Installations & Operations, you will support the preparation, execution, and quality assurance of maintenance and renewal works on vital infrastructure assets, including multiple lock systems in the Zeeland region.
You will act as a technical authority, ensuring that electrotechnical and control systems are designed, implemented, and maintained according to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
This is a full-time role (36 hours/week) with a requirement of at least 3 days on-site presence., * Guide and support design, construction, and maintenance processes for electrotechnical and control installations (bridges & locks)
- Prepare technical specifications, system requirements, and cost estimates
- Review and validate designs, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and technical standards
- Identify risks, deviations, and propose effective technical solutions
- Ensure quality assurance of maintenance work carried out by contractors
- Conduct process and product assessments (SCB) on technical risks and maintenance processes
- Advise technical and contract management on progress, risks, and performance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and represent the technical domain in working groups
- Support knowledge sharing and coach team members where required
Requirements
Are you an experienced technical specialist in electrotechnical installations and industrial automation? We are looking for a driven professional to contribute to large-scale infrastructure renewal projects within a leading public infrastructure organization such as Rijkswaterstaat., * Industrial automation systems: PLC, SCADA, DCS
- System architecture & Systems Engineering (including requirements and interface management)
- Verification & Validation (V&V), including test strategies and acceptance testing
- Design and realization of control and operating systems for infrastructure assets
- Experience with safety methodologies such as RAMS, FMECA, IEC 61508, * Completed HBO/WO degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or similar
- Minimum 3 years' experience in design and maintenance of electrotechnical installations and control systems
- Strong knowledge of relevant standards, guidelines, and engineering practices
- Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder awareness
- Team-oriented with a proactive and solution-driven mindset, * Experience with Systems Engineering (e.g., KES process) and contract documentation (VSE, VSP)
- Familiarity with System-Based Contract Management (SCB)
- Experience working within IPM teams and with technical and contract management
- Possession of VCA-VOL certification (or willingness to obtain)
