Job description
- To provide system and UAT testing expertise to Projects undertaken by Service Delivery. Working with the Project Manager and Business Analyst to ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the required quality levels.
- To undertake regression test execution that is standard for each incremental Release on the Delivery Roadmap.
- To test change and accurately record defects and help the stakeholders priorities these in line with project delivery timeframes. To suggest where appropriate manual work arounds to ensure delivery dates and quality is not compromised
- To work with the Test Lead to construct an accurate project plan and test execution estimates related to the test phases of the project. To ensure that the test phase is completed to pre-defined quality to plan and on budget.
- To ensure that the quality of the production system exceed client expectations in terms of quality. To ensure no severity 1 or 2 defects are released into the live environment as a result of a Qtrly release., * To assist the Test Lead in the drafting of system and user acceptance test strategy documents.
- To read and interpret detailed business requirements and design documentation and construct testing scenarios that ensure that adequate testing coverage of the application is achieved to ensure quality benchmarks are achieved.
- To help the Test Lead to design, implement and constantly improve an agile testing model within Service Delivery
- Maintain and update as appropriate regression packs to ensure relevance to current and future releases
- Validate and approve coverage of development's unit testing.
- Set up and manage the system and user acceptance test environment, ensuring the test data is maintained throughout the test lifecycle
- Execute system testing to meet agreed quality outcomes defined by the test strategy
- Co-ordinate user acceptance testing [including testing of processes and systems]
- Clearly communicate and categorise defects to the development.
- Ensure defects are correctly fixed and perform regression tests.
- Provide progress reports to the Test Lead on progress of activities against the project plan
- Assist the project team and stakeholders to close issues as they arise and manage risks within the project
- To ensure the project planning estimates related to the test phase are both accurate and is delivered to plan
- To prepare internal test script for review and ensure that the appropriate sign off is achieved to ensure both consistency of quality and relevance of the test coverage in meeting test exit criteria
- Where appropriate to carryout performance and scale testing to ensure page load times continue to meet SLAs
- To ensure and the application continues to deliver consistent usability and navigation approaches that adhere to windows standards and the usability norms.
- Stakeholder Management - Liaison with the business and external stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of dependencies, deliverables and issues and to ensure that business owners fully understand and agree with the project test conclusions and recommendations
- Assistance with Project activities and liaison with other project teams to manage project inter-dependencies and milestones for testing common function
- Release Management - supporting the planning and release of change within in line with both the Product and Delivery Roadmaps.
- Quality Management - implements, measures and maintains quality processes and standards in accordance with the Project Office standards. Undertakes quality reviews of project and team deliverables
