Job description

  • Process and interpret footage of satellite for the survey of the line of coast and the geomorphological evolution.
  • Apply coastal numeric models (XBeach).
  • Integrate the pool of coastal data multiescala (teledetection, geomorphology, hydrodynamics).
  • Assess the coastal vulnerability in front of dire events and the climatic change.
  • Prepare scientific reports and results of enquiry
  • Back the coastal management and the planning of the resilience by means of scientific analysis., * Coastal geomorphological cartography and analysis of changes at the line of coast.
  • Coastal numeric modelling based at processes: Xbeach.
  • Analysis of coastal systems at multiple scales: since the geomorphological scale until the scale of events.
  • Systems of Geographic Information (SIG) applied at coastal and marine surroundings.
  • Analysis and visualisation of data: MatLab and Python.

Specific Requirements

Knowledge:

  • Physical oceanography.
  • Coastal processes and coastal dynamics.
  • Coastal erosion.
  • Dynamics of swell, tides and transport of sediments.

Professional experience:

  • Have worked at coastal surroundings with data limited, applying approaches multiescala to assess the coastal vulnerability in front of dire events, how tropical cyclones.
  • Have realised observations for satellite, geomorphological context and hydrodynamic modelling to improve the realization and the prediction of the coastal change and back a coastal management based at the evidence.
  • It will value experience at similar functions at the described, specifically, at the development of activities of enquiry, so much at the university surroundings how industrial., * The maximum score for the candidates who accomplish all the eligibility criteria stated in the job offer will be 10 points.
  • Threshold: 5 points.
  • The maximum score (10 points) will be distributed as follows:
  • 1 point for required speciality.
  • 2 points for required academic training.
  • 2 points for technic competences.
  • 1 point for organisational competences.
  • 3 points for professional experience.
  • 1 point for any aspect of the candidate's professional profile to be determined as specially relevant by the Selection committee.

If the selection committee decide to include a personal interview as additional step of the selection process, only the candidates scored 5 or above for their CV will be retained for the interview step.

The interview will be assessed according the following criteria:

  • Maximum scoring: 5 points.
  • Threshold: 3 points.
  • The maximum score will be distributed according the following criteria:
  • 2 points for adequacy to functional competences of the job.
  • 2 points for adequacy of professional experience.
  • 1 point for any aspect of the candidate's professional profile to be determined as especially relevant by the Selection committee.
