Job description

Reporting to the Category & Revenue Management Controller, this role leads the improvement and governance of commercial processes, reporting and data flows across Pricing, Promotions, Income, Range and Space, whilst supporting the Trading team. Shapes and prioritises the commercial systems roadmap, focusing on workflows, data integrity and user experience. Provides high quality analysis and insight to support commercial decision making. Accountable for end-to-end process integrity, data quality, governance standards and reporting accuracy across Commercial, ensuring consistency and strong ways of working.

Key Responsibilties:

Process & ControlOwn the end to end commercial process map (pricing, promotions, income, range & space), clarifying hand offs, SLAs and controls.Reduce failure points and rework through simpler workflows, clear ownership, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Maintain strong data quality and control, applying practical checks and reconciliations, resolving issues with data owners, and feeding root cause fixes back into processes/SOPs.Reporting & InsightLead delivery of the core reporting suite (sales & margin, price index, promo effectiveness, income position, compliance, range/space insight).Turn reporting into actionable insight with clear commentary, drivers, and recommended actions.Establish and track a small set of process KPIs (e.g., promo setup accuracy, data error rates, cycle times, on-time reporting).Systems Roadmap (non-tech ownership)Shape and maintain the commercial systems roadmap focused on workflow improvements, data integrity, and user experience.Commercial lead for integration of AFB supplier contracts into our commercial systems, working with Tech and system suppliers to ensure accuracy and strong governance.Change & AdoptionLead UAT, training and adoption for reporting/process changes; keep documentation (process maps, data definitions, reporting logic) up to date.Work cross-functionally (Category, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Store Ops and IT) to embed changes and measure benefits.LeadershipManage, coach and develop team of Commercial Process Managers; set clear objectives, standards and development plans.Generic Responsibilities:Behave within the principles of the companys values at all times.Maintain employee and organisational confidentiality in line with the GDPR.Demonstrate commitment to equality and diversity.Comply with all legislative and Health & Safety requirements.Person Specification, working with Tech to deliver enhancements without owning build.Excellent stakeholder management across Commercial, Finance and IT; concise communicator who can challenge constructively.Confident communicator with solid PowerPoint skills.Organised and delivery focused, able to run recurring cycles while driving improvements at pace.DesirableExperience with pricing/promo/contract management or space/range tools.Exposure to process mapping and continuous improvement methods.Experience leading/mentoring analysts.What's in it for you?Holiday, Maternity and Paternity leave and pay in excess of statutory entitlementsCycle to work schemeDevelop your skills and capability in a highly supportive and multi-diverse cultureOutstanding Training & Development opportunitiesGain hands-on experience in a high volume, fast paced environmentEnhanced Maternity & Paternity pay packagesFlexible working hours opportunityExcellent additional benefits package including:Early access to your pay through EarlyPay24/7 access to your payslips via HR/Payroll portal12.5% Staff discount on fresh items & 10% Staff Discount on ambient products in our SPAR stores (ex. Requirements

Proven experience improving commercial processes and reporting within a retail and wholesale trading environment.Strong analytical capability; able to convert complex data into clear, decision-ready insight.Demonstrable experience of governance and controls (e.g., pricing/promo rules, income checkpoints, audit trails).Expertise in Excel and confidence with BI/visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI) to design and iterate practical reporting.Skilled in requirements definition, UAT, and change adoption
