Infrastructure Engineer

We are currently supporting a major UK government-facing organisation in the search for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their core infrastructure team. This role will play a key part in supporting and maintaining critical enterprise platforms across a complex, multi-technology environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on infrastructure specialist with strong experience across VMware, Linux and Citrix environments, working within a highly secure and technically challenging environment. Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support and administration across enterprise infrastructure platforms
• Support and maintain VMware virtualisation environments
• Manage and maintain Linux (Debian) server environments
• Support Citrix platforms including upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Contribute to infrastructure improvement, optimisation and reliability initiatives
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and third-party suppliers to support services
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and knowledge sharing across teams
• Assist with infrastructure projects and platform enhancements

• Strong experience supporting VMware environments (configuration, updates, platform support)

• Solid Linux administration experience (Debian preferred)

• Experience supporting Citrix environments

• Good understanding of Windows infrastructure including identity and access management

• Exposure to public or private cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)

• Strong troubleshooting skills across enterprise infrastructure platforms

• Experience working within operational environments supporting BAU and project delivery

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced infrastructure support team Additional Information

• Candidates must be British nationals and able to obtain SC Security Clearance

• Hybrid working with regular onsite presence required in Milton Keynes
