Design Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support a busy engineering team on a 6-month contract. This role will focus on updating and improving existing mechanical designs, restructuring legacy engineering documentation, and supporting ongoing product development activities. Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks
• Update and reorganise legacy CAD drawings and assemblies
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings including GD&T
• Support engineering change processes and design documentation updates
• Work closely with manufacturing and service teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
• Assist with design improvements and minor redesign work

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Strong SolidWorks 3D CAD skills
• Experience creating and managing BOMs
• Strong experience producing manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
• Experience working with large assemblies and legacy design data
