IT Infrastructure Engineer

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you'll join our Design & Build team-the projects arm of IT Infrastructure at Sunbelt Rentals. You'll work on a wide range of infrastructure projects, from discovery through to delivery, and provide technical expertise across the business.

This role has a strong focus on Identity, Access and Microsoft Entra services, but remains a generalist infrastructure role. You'll contribute across both cloud and on-premises environments and work closely with Infrastructure, Security, End User Computing and Development teams., * Design, implement and support infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.

• Lead technical delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with IT strategy, business objectives and best practices.
• Deliver and support identity and access solutions using Microsoft Entra and associated technologies.
• Support application onboarding and access integration activities, including authentication and provisioning.
• Act as a senior technical point of contact within your area of strength, providing guidance and mentoring to colleagues.
• Help define and improve standards, processes and governance across the infrastructure estate.
• Work with Security, End User Computing and Development teams to deliver secure, supportable solutions, taking ownership of design and implementation within your area while collaborating with other teams on theirs.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and continuous improvement across the infrastructure estate.

• Proven experience delivering IT infrastructure projects in an enterprise environment.

• Strong technical background across core Microsoft infrastructure, cloud and hybrid environments.

• Hands on experience of configuring Microsoft Entra ID and identity-related services in a business environment.

• Experience implementing and supporting solutions such as Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, RBAC, Privileged access controls, Guest / external access

• Experience supporting application integrations using modern authentication methods such as SAML, OAuth or OpenID Connect

• Good understanding of identity lifecycle, access management and governance controls.

• Experience with PowerShell and automation scripting.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience with Okta or similar IDPs and migrations to Microsoft Entra.
• Skilled in VMware and Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
• Hands-on SCIM provisioning experience.
• Knowledge of JML (Joiner/Mover/Leaver) processes.
• Experience with Azure PIM, access reviews, and entitlement management.
• Familiar with Azure B2C for customer identity solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview and M365 DLP tools.
• Worked in security-focused environments (e.g., Cyber Essentials Plus).
• Understanding of hybrid identity and migrations from AD to Microsoft Entra.
