At Abacus Medicine Group, you'll take ownership of running and optimizing our SOC, strengthening our security posture and responding quickly to emerging threats using leading tools. Drive meaningful change Join our growing team as a Security Operations Specialist and help Abacus Medicine Group reach new heights in security and compliance! You'll collaborate with key stakeholders, including IT Operations, Legal and others, to ensure seamless implementation and operation of security measures. On a daily basis you will be part of the local IT team in Pluripharm, our wholesale business, based in Alkmaar. You will report directly to the Group Head of IT Core Services in Copenhagen, Denmark and work closely with the Group IT Operations and Security teams. While your primary focus will be on Pluripharm, you will also collaborate across Abacus Medicine Group and travel to Denmark a few times per year. Your main responsibilities include: Own and optimize the security stack, proactively identifying issues and helping drive sustainable improvements. Implement and run security tools across endpoint, cloud, and identity platforms. Monitor and respond to security incidents, investigating alerts and acting quickly to reduce risk and limit impact. Partner closely with IT Operations to ensure security is smoothly integrated into platforms, processes, and daily operations. Perform security assessments and audits, translating findings into concrete, actionable improvements. Maintain security policies, standards, and documentation. Enable IT teams through security training, guidance, and hands-on support with tools and best practices. Stay ahead of emerging threats by tracking new risks, trends, and technologies and applying them where relevant.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with a structured and analytical mindset, who enjoys solving complex problems and turning them into clear, actionable outcomes. Additionally we imagine that you have: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field. 3-5 years of proven experience in IT operations, particularly on the Microsoft platform, including Azure. Experience with security tools and technologies, preferably within the Microsoft Security application stack. (Microsoft Sentinel and the Defender product line). A Microsoft Security Operations Analyst (SC-200) certification is a plus. Both a team player focus and the ability to be partially self-governed. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written. Proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
