Job description
We're looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join a fast-paced, product-led environment focused on building and enhancing a highly scalable SaaS platform. The initial focus will be on a Rails upgrade across a mature codebase, followed by integration work across multiple services and platforms., * Lead and deliver a Ruby on Rails upgrade across an existing production system
- Identify risks, dependencies, and improvements as part of the upgrade process
- Design and build robust RESTful APIs to support internal and external integrations
- Contribute to integration work with third-party systems and internal services
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Support performance optimisation and scalability improvements
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Ruby on Rails
- Proven experience upgrading Rails applications (ideally across multiple versions)
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and service-based architectures
- Experience working on production-grade, scalable applications
- Experience with modern development practices (CI/CD, version control, code reviews)
Desirable
- Experience with system integrations (third-party APIs, event-driven architectures, etc.)
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar)
- Experience working in security-focused or high-availability environments
- Frontend exposure (React or similar)
