Ruby on Rails Developer | Outside IR35 | Remote

We're looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join a fast-paced, product-led environment focused on building and enhancing a highly scalable SaaS platform. The initial focus will be on a Rails upgrade across a mature codebase, followed by integration work across multiple services and platforms., * Lead and deliver a Ruby on Rails upgrade across an existing production system

• Identify risks, dependencies, and improvements as part of the upgrade process
• Design and build robust RESTful APIs to support internal and external integrations
• Contribute to integration work with third-party systems and internal services
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Support performance optimisation and scalability improvements

• Strong commercial experience with Ruby on Rails
• Proven experience upgrading Rails applications (ideally across multiple versions)
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and service-based architectures
• Experience working on production-grade, scalable applications
• Experience with modern development practices (CI/CD, version control, code reviews)

Desirable

• Experience with system integrations (third-party APIs, event-driven architectures, etc.)
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar)
• Experience working in security-focused or high-availability environments
• Frontend exposure (React or similar)
