Job description

As Information Governance Advisor at Oxford Health NHS FT, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice and presenting training to staff on the application of data protection and confidentiality within healthcare.

This includes conducting regular monitoring of information handling practices, responding promptly and effectively to data breaches, and developing or updating guidance documents to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

You will actively engage with teams across the Trust to help them maintain high standards in managing sensitive information, for example by facilitating workshops on best practices or advising on complex data sharing scenarios.

Collaboration with the Information Governance Manager, Head of Information Governance, and other senior leaders will be key, as will your role as Line Manager for the Information Governance Administrator.

Requirements

We seek someone who is highly motivated and passionate about protecting the information rights of patients and staff.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities, along with a genuine interest in information legislation. Responsibilities include supervising the Information Governance Administrator and delivering relevant training to Oxford Health staff.

A track record of proactive self-development and ongoing learning will be beneficial. The post holder will be based onsite at Littlemore Mental Health Centre and expected to travel to various Oxford Health locations, with occasional opportunities for home working., The ideal candidate will have experience of applying data protection legislation within their working environment, strong communication skills, and a thorough understanding of relevant legislation such as the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
