Job description
- Data Engineer - Ex Consultancy Experience
- Heathrow, Hillingdon - Onsite 2/3 days a week
- 6 month contract
- Inside of IR35
- £800 per day
As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and platforms that power analytics, machine learning, and data-driven products. You will work closely with data scientists, product teams, and engineers to ensure scalable, well-structured, and trusted data is available across the business.
You must come from a Consultancy background - McKinsey, Orphoz, BCG X, BCG, Bain, Oliver Wyman, BlackRock, KPMG, Deloitte, PwC
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines
- Design and optimize data models in data warehouses and data lakes
- Ensure data reliability, availability, and observability across datasets
- Integrate data from multiple internal systems
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to enable analytics and ML use cases
- Apply best practices for data security, governance, and documentation.
Key Skills and Experiences
- Strong SQL and experience with Python or similar languages
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (eg AWS)
- Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses
- Understanding of ETL/ELT patterns and data modelling principles
- Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and production-grade systems
- Must come from a consultancy background - McKinsey, Orphoz, BCG X, BCG, Bain, Oliver Wyman, BlackRock, KPMG, Deloitte, PwC
