Job description

Technical Support Engineer, in this role the duties are to technically support all aspects of the business. This includes customers, end users, internal and external sales teams and production. To give product, application support and provide bespoke solutions to customers requirements. Train customer on our products, as and when required attend customers sites and inspect / investigate failed equipment returned by customers., 1. General

o Provide timely and accurate solutions to problems.

o Communicate via telephone, email or chat to understand the root of the problem.

o Escalate any un-resolved issues to the Technical Manager.

  1. Customer Support:

o Provide product telephone support to customers and end users.

o Advise customer on the use of our products.

o Provide on site support as and when required.

o Train customers on our products.

o To specify and design bespoke solutions to customers applications and requirements.

o Keep records of phone call with customers on the Technical Day Log.

o Provide on site support as and when needed.

o Inspect and investigate equipment that has been returned from site / customers as and when needed.

  1. Sales Support:

o Provide support to internal and external sales teams in relation to sales enquiries and orders.

o Provide technical support in relation to external sales teams when bringing new customers on board.

o Visiting customers with the external sales team as and when required.

o Assist with training and development of all employees.

  1. Production:

o Assist the production team with any assembly or wiring issues.

o Assist the production team with product that has been supplied incorrectly or differently from the supplier.

o Advise production of any assembly issues or wiring raised on site.

  1. Purchasing and Suppliers:

o Provide the procurement department with any technical aspect of dealing with suppliers.

o Put together technical specification for sourcing goods from our suppliers.

o Liaise with suppliers as and when required.

  1. Product Support and Development:

o Monitor and implement changes where necessary for continuous product development.

o Test and evaluate sample products from suppliers.

o Source components and products when items become obsolete.

o Keep all technical drawing and documentation.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Sage?, · Good communication skills with people at all levels.

· Strong Electrical and Electronic Engineering background.

· Be able to program PLCs in function block diagram (preferred be not essential).

· Strong knowledge of door, barrier and gate system.

· Able to produce technical drawings and documentation.

Expectations

· An understanding of industry and legal compliance.

· Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate within an enthusiastic team.

· Proficiency in the use of all IT systems and software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Google and Sage.

· Good verbal and written communication skills, especially over the telephone and via email, and ability to use these in a range of contexts are essential.
