Job description

My client, a contractor specialising in social housing, is seeking a proactive, hands-on IT Support Engineer to take ownership of day-to-day IT operations.

This is a business-critical role where IT performance directly impacts site operations, job delivery, and revenue. You'll work closely with a third-party IT provider, ensuring systems are reliable, issues are resolved quickly, and continuous improvements are delivered.

This is not a passive helpdesk role, you'll take full ownership of IT outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st & 2nd line support across office and field teams
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365, devices, and field-based systems
  • Build and manage devices via Intune / Entra
  • Manage users, permissions, and device lifecycle
  • Own and drive IT issues through to resolution
  • Coordinate and hold third-party IT providers accountable
  • Support networks, connectivity, and site setups
  • Maintain security, compliance, and access controls
  • Monitor IT performance and manage SLAs
  • Identify recurring issues and implement long-term fixes
  • Maintain clear documentation and improve internal knowledge
  • Support stakeholders with clear, practical communication

Requirements

  • Experience in 1st / 2nd line IT support
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra (Azure AD), and Intune
  • Experience supporting remote users and multiple locations
  • Strong troubleshooting and prioritisation skills
  • Full UK driving licence Desirable o Experience with field service / job management systems o Hybrid AD environments o Basic PowerShell scripting o Network setup and troubleshooting
