Job description
Balfour Beatty are looking for an GIS Analyst to join their Power T&D business in Scotland (Glasgow).
Role purpose:
To create, manage & develop GIS Data for our Overhead Line and Underground Cabling projects in Scotland.
Liaise with Site Operative, Environmental & Design teams for the population, distribution & upkeep of GIS Data.
Responsible for supporting GIS systems and delivering GIS deliverables to the client.
Role will require some occasional travel to site in Elgin.

- Provide support to the project in delivering GIS requirements.
- Create GIS data to be used across the project.
- Create GIS based map outputs.
- Deliver required GIS data to internal and external clients.
- Managing data and assuring data to the required standards.
- Work closely with Site Operatives/ Environmental/ Designers/ BIM, GIS & CAD teams to convert data between formats.
- Development of GIS based technology.
- Engage with and support GIS users to deal with queries and improve efficiency.
- Engage with users to help improve their work and deal with queries.
Requirements
The following qualities/experience are essential:
- Experience in data quality and assurance
- Experience in successfully managing and producing data
- Experience with ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Portal
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of ESRI Geodatabases & Ordnance Survey
- Experience building and creating map outputs
- Excellent organisational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under minimum supervision
- Ability to work on your own and part of a team
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
- Experience with QGIS
- Experience managing user accounts
- Knowledge of BIM
