Job description
We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Developer to join our collaborative and forward-thinking Business Applications Team, which is part of the Technology Department at Sanctuary Group.
This is a great opportunity for you to work with a portfolio of critical business systems that underpin Sanctuary's operations. You'll play a key role in enhancing user experience, improving system efficiency and stability, and enabling smarter ways of working through intelligent configuration. You'll be involved in strategic projects and programmes, lead on application upgrades and enhancements, and provide third-line support to ensure the reliability and continuous improvement of our systems.
The role of Developer will include:
- Participating in application-related projects and programmes, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
- Identifying opportunities for system improvements and implement enhancements
- Configuring applications to meet business requirements
- Coordinating with vendors or internal teams for troubleshooting and updates
- Providing 3rd line technical support for business-critical applications
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Supporting audits and risk assessments related to application usage
- Working closely with IT teams, developers, and external partners
- Supporting change of management processes and ensure smooth transitions
- Ensuring applications are optimized for performance and usability
Requirements
- Experience with enterprise applications
- Intermediate SQL skills for querying and data manipulation
- Understanding of APIs, middleware, and integration platforms
- Experience with service management platforms (Jira & Helix)
- Experience in managing Windows servers
- Knowledge of role-based access, authentication protocols, and data protection principles
- Strong skills in technical writing and stakeholder communication

- Effective 1st April role salary is £38,729 with an additional policy allowance of £7,819 per annum (rising to £40,768 with an additional policy allowance of £8,231 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
