Job description

Mindtree IT Solutions Ltd looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team and help us accelerate our growth by providing data-driven insights to our clients. As a Data Architect you will be responsible for developing and maintaining ETL processes, cleanse and validate the data, review, and analyse existing SQL queries for performance improvements. As an integral part of the team, you will work with development teams to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented. You will have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas to the team.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

· Build and enhance scalable data pipelines using Azure and Snowflake.

· Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes across batch and micro-batch workloads.

· Design and maintain data warehouse structures, including star and snowflake schema.

· Apply recognized data warehousing methodologies such as Kimball and Inmon.

· Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries for analytics and reporting.

· Ensure strong data governance, quality, validation, and reconciliation processes.

· Translate architectural vision into robust solutions using Azure Data Platform technologies, ensuring performance, security, scalability, reliability, and resilience.

· Collaborate with development teams to understand overall technical architecture and feature implementation.

· Partner with Azure Architects and Engineers to deliver end-to-end enterprise-scale solutions.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer IT stakeholders to support long-term cloud adoption.

· Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Azure and Spark ecosystems, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data bricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Services, and Power BI.

· Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives).

· Proactively contribute ideas and improvements as a self-driven team member.

Requirements

· Master's degree in computer science (mandatory).

· 10+ years of experience as a Data Engineer/Data Architect delivering complex, enterprise-scale analytical solutions.

· Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with Snowflake.

· Strong expertise in SQL development and data modelling.

· Proven track record of delivering scalable, high-performance, and resource-intensive analytical solutions.

· Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services and Apache Spark applications.

· Strong knowledge of Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data bricks, and architecture design.

· Experience designing and developing Spark-based applications.

· Strong proficiency in data modelling, ETL/ ELT processes, cloud storage solutions, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is essential.

· Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, and performance optimization techniques within the Azure ecosystem.

· Hands-on experience with ETL tools and cloud platforms.

· Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive cloud solutions and transformation initiatives.

Mandatory Certifications:

· Cloud Architecture (preferably Microsoft Azure)., * Master's (required)

Experience:

  • Snowflake: 1 year (required)
  • Data Engineer/Data Architect : 10 years (required)
