Job description

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Education Systems Service Lead to play a key role in the development, improvement and ongoing support of critical education and social care IT systems. This is a strategic and technical role focused on leading system development, supporting digital transformation initiatives and ensuring the continued reliability and effectiveness of the Council's Liquidlogic applications, particularly EYES.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Education, Children's Social Care, Business Change and IT Services, helping to shape system improvements, support decision making and drive the successful delivery of transformation programmes., * Act as the technical and professional lead, providing guidance on complex projects, system developments and service improvements

  • Produce recommendations for service planning, budgets and workforce planning based on emerging trends and service needs
  • Provide expert technical and professional advice to senior stakeholders to ensure high quality service delivery
  • Produce complex analysis of service and management information to support the development of new systems and improved ways of working
  • Lead the development and delivery of improvement projects to support continuous service improvement
  • Design and deliver technical training programmes to ensure best practice across the service

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant subject or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and proven experience of strategic development in a related service area
  • ITIL v4 qualification

  • Expert knowledge in a specialist area with broader business understanding needed to position the service for the organisation
  • Up-to-date and authoritative knowledge of work practices, systems, processes and procedures relevant to the role
  • Excellent understanding of Council policies and wider strategic plans, including knowledge of local government developments
  • Strong understanding of external issues such as legislation, regulation and best practice standards
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to build relationships at senior level
