CMDB & IT Asset Analyst

This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of configuration and asset data across a complex technology environment.You will play a critical role in supporting Change Management, providing reliable configuration insights, impact assessments, and asset life cycle transparency to enable informed decision-making.

What You'll Own

CMDB Governance & Data Integrity: Maintain accurate, complete, and reliable configuration data, ensuring CIs are correctly identified, related, and managed.

Configuration Management Standards: Define and enforce configuration policies, data models, and governance frameworks.

Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage IT assets from procurement through to retirement, ensuring accurate tracking and compliance.

Change Impact Analysis: Support Change Management by providing dependency mapping, impact analysis, and risk insights.

Data Quality & Audit Support: Track data quality KPIs, support audits, and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

Continuous Improvement: Identify data gaps and drive improvements in CMDB and asset management processes, including automation initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key interface across Change, IT Operations, Engineering, and Service teams.

This role requires hands-on experience in CMDB and IT asset management within structured IT service environments.

You must be able to demonstrate:

• Proven experience managing CMDB data (Configuration Items, relationships, and integrity)

• Strong understanding of IT Asset Management life cycle (hardware, software, cloud)

• Experience supporting Change Management with impact and dependency analysis

• Familiarity with ITIL practices (Configuration, Asset, Change Management)

• Experience working with ITSM tools (eg ServiceNow CMDB)

This role is not suitable for Service Desk, general IT support, or purely administrative asset tracking backgrounds., * Experience in Configuration Management/CMDB/IT Asset Management

• Strong understanding of CI relationships and dependency mapping
• Experience supporting Change Management processes
• Strong analytical and data quality mindset
• Experience with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow preferred)
• Ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
