Signature Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a permanent Academic Support Officer role within a London higher education institution., This is a full time, permanent position offering a salary of £38,000-£41,000 per annum. Based in London, this hybrid role offers a mix of office and home working, with more time on campus during the initial onboarding period. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and growing environment supporting academic and research activity.
You will support academic and research staff across multiple groups, managing a varied workload that combines research finance, administration, and event coordination. Working closely with focused and results-driven academics, you will need confidence in managing expectations and deadlines. From supporting grant activity and monitoring budgets to organising seminars and coordinating travel, your work will play a key role in keeping research activity running smoothly. This position offers excellent exposure to research operations and the chance to build strong stakeholder relationships within a respected higher education setting.

- Provide administrative support to academic and research staff
- Manage research finance processes including budgets, expenses, and reporting
- Monitor grant spending and support audit and compliance requirements
- Organise events such as seminars, workshops, and conferences
- Coordinate meetings, travel, and diary management for academic staff
- Maintain accurate records across research systems and databases
