Job description
West Midlands Employers (WME), the award-winning member-led organisation supporting 31 local authorities across the region, is seeking a talented Data Officer to strengthen its data analytics and reporting capability. You'll work with data from WMJobs, our applicant tracking system, campaign analytics, and regional workforce datasets - helping shape how public sector recruitment works across the West Midlands.
This is a rare opportunity to shape how our organisation uses data. You won't just produce reports - you'll influence decisions, improve how we capture and use data, and build dashboards that are used by senior leaders.
With a flexible 22 hour working pattern, this role offers the chance to do meaningful, high impact work alongside a strong work life balance. We're looking for the 22 hours to be worked across a minimum of 3 days per week.
What you'll do
You'll lead the development of high-quality reporting and dashboards that support organisational performance. Your work will shape how WME uses data to enhance service delivery and support leaders with robust, accessible insight.
A key part of the role includes ensuring data quality, maintaining strong governance practices, and supporting compliance with data protection requirements such as GDPR. You'll also help streamline reporting processes and guide teams across the organisation in using data effectively for both operational and strategic decisions., If you're excited by an opportunity where your analysis leads to real decisions, and not just reports - we'd love to hear from you.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical experience with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and confidently. You'll bring knowledge gained from a relevant degree or equivalent experience, alongside expertise in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
