Job description
The successful candidate with form a pivotal part of standing up our new private cloud professional services consultancy. As a Senior Private Cloud Consultant you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and technical expertise in the deployment, implementation and management of VMware private cloud solutions. Your primary focus will be on overseeing projects, coordinating resources, ensuring successful implementation and delivery of private cloud solutions to clients, alongside liaising with our core infrastructure teams to develop and implement infrastructure and product best practices Project Management:
- Oversee multiple Private cloud projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop project plans, define deliverables, and allocate resources effectively to achieve project goals.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and proactively address any issues or bottlenecks that may arise.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and providing regular project updates.
Technical Expertise:
- Provide expert guidance and architectural recommendations to clients regarding VMware private cloud services and solutions.
- Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of VMware-based private cloud infrastructure, applications, and services.
- Deep understanding of enterprise grade HPE & Dell storage technologies, UCS Blade systems and metro-storage deployments
- Stay up to date with the latest private cloud technologies and trends, and evaluate their suitability for client projects.
- Conduct technical assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and optimization in private cloud environments.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices, compliance standards, and security guidelines in implementation.
Client Relationship Management:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into customer solutions.
- Conduct workshops, presentations, and training sessions to educate clients on cloud capabilities and best practices.
- Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
Collaboration with Senior Management:
- Collaborate with the Director of Core infrastructure to align team utilization with project demands, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Provide regular updates on project status, team performance, and upcoming resource requirements.
- Contribute to the development of cloud strategies, service offerings, and best practices in collaboration with senior engineers.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in VMware based private cloud deployments, including proficiency in infrastructure, storage, and network deployment.
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects.
- Previous experience in leading and managing a team of consultants or technical professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
- VCP DV / NV 7 or above preferred.
- Knowledge of cloud migration strategies, DevOps practices, and automation tools is a plus.
