Senior Cloud System Engineer

A leading global technology organisation is seeking a Senior Cloud System Engineer to join its growing Professional Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled consultant with a passion for automation and cloud technologies to work on high-impact projects across a diverse client base.

You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimising automated solutions, collaborating closely with internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors to deliver innovative and scalable outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and implementing automation workflows and runbooks to improve operational efficiency
• Working closely with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored cloud-based solutions
• Integrating automation tools with APIs, web services, and third-party platforms
• Supporting cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments
• Developing and maintaining scripts to streamline processes and enhance system performance
• Producing workflow designs including process mapping, decision modelling, and problem-solving frameworks
• Collaborating within a small, highly skilled team while contributing to wider organisational initiatives

• Proven experience in a technical consultant or IT operations role
• Strong knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar
• Experience designing workflows, including process mapping and decision modelling
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, Groovy)
• Familiarity with orchestration tools and languages such as YAML
• Experience working with REST APIs, web services, and system integrations
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Understanding of ITIL frameworks (v3 or v4) is advantageous
