Job description
A leading global technology organisation is seeking a Senior Cloud System Engineer to join its growing Professional Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled consultant with a passion for automation and cloud technologies to work on high-impact projects across a diverse client base.
You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimising automated solutions, collaborating closely with internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors to deliver innovative and scalable outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and implementing automation workflows and runbooks to improve operational efficiency
- Working closely with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored cloud-based solutions
- Integrating automation tools with APIs, web services, and third-party platforms
- Supporting cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments
- Developing and maintaining scripts to streamline processes and enhance system performance
- Producing workflow designs including process mapping, decision modelling, and problem-solving frameworks
- Collaborating within a small, highly skilled team while contributing to wider organisational initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in a technical consultant or IT operations role
- Strong knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar
- Experience designing workflows, including process mapping and decision modelling
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, Groovy)
- Familiarity with orchestration tools and languages such as YAML
- Experience working with REST APIs, web services, and system integrations
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Understanding of ITIL frameworks (v3 or v4) is advantageous
