Job description

Are you a Data Analyst with strong SQL and Python skills looking to apply your expertise in a manufacturing environment?

Do you enjoy digging into complex data, identifying gaps, and turning it into meaningful insights that drive quality and performance improvements?

If so, this could be a great opportunity.

We're supporting a well-established manufacturing business in Portsmouth who are looking to bring in a Data Analyst to work closely with their Quality and Operations teams.

What's the role all about?

This is not a standard reporting role.

You'll be responsible for owning and improving quality data, identifying gaps, building datasets, and creating meaningful insight that supports decision-making across the business.

You'll work across multiple systems, helping to connect data, automate reporting and provide clear visibility on quality performance and cost drivers., * Analyse and interpret quality and manufacturing data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities

Use SQL and Python to extract, clean and manipulate data from multiple sources
Identify data gaps, inconsistencies and inefficiencies, and build solutions to improve data quality
Develop and maintain automated dashboards and reporting tools
Support the Quality team with insights into:
Non-conformances
Scrap and rework
Process performance
Cost of quality
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Operations and IT teams
Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven decision making
Assist in integrating and improving QMS and ERP data systems

Requirements

Strong experience as a Data Analyst within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Advanced skills in SQL and Python (essential)
Experience with data manipulation, automation and scripting
Ability to work with large datasets and multiple data sources
Experience building dashboards and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Understanding of manufacturing or quality processes

Desirable

Experience working with quality data (NCRs, CAPAs, scrap, audits, etc.)
Knowledge of ISO9001 / AS9100 environments
Exposure to Lean / Six Sigma / continuous improvement methodologies
Experience integrating data across ERP / QMS systems

You'll be:
