We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Brussels team for a long-term mission within the Operational and Permanent Control (OPC) department of a leading international financial institution. The Mission: Engineering Actionable Insights As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be the backbone of the "Control & Reporting Factory." You will bridge the gap between raw, complex data and the strategic insights needed to drive critical business decisions in a high-stakes banking environment., Data Lifecycle Mastery: Collect, clean, link, and validate data from diverse sources to ensure a "single version of truth." Solution Engineering: Set up robust data pooling and sampling solutions using end-user-friendly (self-service) techniques to empower business autonomy. Analysis & Strategy: Identify trends and anomalies, distilling key messages for management and proposing data-driven remediation plans. Governance & Integrity: Ensure strict data integrity and compliance with industry standards (Data Governance, GDPR). Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and negotiate with internal stakeholders. ️ Your Profile, High-Impact Projects: Lead data-driven control and reporting for a major international institution. Requirements
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Analytics. Core Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in SQL and knowledge of SAS. Advanced Tools: Expert level in Excel and VBA for complex data manipulation. Architecture: Proven experience in building data solutions within complex IT environments using pooling and sampling techniques. Bonus: Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and experience in the Banking/Financial sector. Soft Skills: The "Self-Starter": High level of autonomy with a proactive "can-do" attitude. Communicator & Influencer: Strong synthesis and presentation skills, with the ability to negotiate and build relationships. Resilient: Committed and persistent within a dynamic, multi-cultural environment. Language Requirements: Trilingualism is Essential: Fluency in English, French, and Dutch (written and spoken) is mandatory for this Brussels-based context.
