Senior Security Architect

As a Senior Security Architect for ByDesign you will be working on high profile large scale IT programs where security is paramount. You will be responsible for defining the security architecture, providing expert guidance on high-risk, complex projects. You will be expected to provide creative solutions to some of the hardest problems in security., * Strategy & Vision: Defining security principles, patterns, and the overall vision for the security architecture for a solution.

• Leadership: Leading the security assurance of solutions, including risk assessment, design reviews and production of security documentation.
• Risk & Governance: Enabling risk-based decisions by translating complex technical threats for non-technical stakeholders, taking a pragmatic and threat informed approach.
• Innovation: Researching and adopting new technologies to solve unprecedented security challenges, including the adoption of new technologies where there is limited precedent for secure use.

• Technical Expertise: Knowledge of NCSC standards and guidelines as well as security frameworks is essential. Experience designing new security solutions for emerging technologies where there is limited existing guidelines is highly desirable. Strong technical background across a wide range of technologies is essential.
• Experience: A proven track record in public sector organizations or other regulated environments is essential. Experience of working on systems which are classified and / or which have limited or no internet connectivity is highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to influence at a senior level.
• Qualifications: Chartered security architect is desirable or alternate qualifications (such as CIISP) are acceptable.
• Security Clearance. This role requires either an existing Security Clearance (SC level) or for one to be passed before commencement. There must be a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV)., * 2. Do you hold a minimum of an active SC clearance or preferably DV? If yes, are you currently working in the post that holds the SC or DV clearance?
