Job description
Ready for a new challenge and exciting projects? As the Publishing QA Tester, you will, * Support multiple projects of different scales, including our indie branch United Label
- Test game features and content in relation to our Publishing QA team such as:
- Gameplay functionality
- UI and setting implementation
- UX and balancing
- Quests progression
- Achievements
- Live game patch testing
- Conduct testing via development and shipping builds across all current Gen platforms.
- Write detailed bug reports and proactively investigate issues, following up with development teams to ensure resolution.
- Maintain an organised bug database in collaboration with your Lead and QA Manager.
- Perform project specific test runs and publisher level release sign off tests.
- Communicate with internal Dev QA and external QA teams to coordinate on extra testing support.
- Support internal playtests., * Actively participate in team meetings to communicate testing progress, findings, and insights.
- Provide constructive feedback on gameplay for enhancing quality of the user experience.
- Act upon and investigate community feedback and issues to ensure the game is shaped and perfected.
- Provide personal insight and feedback on game demoes and pitches of prospective new United Label titles, * Once our Talent Acquisition team receives your application, together with the hiring team, we will review your CV, portfolio and the answers you provided in the application form and if all the boxes are ticked, we're moving to the next stage.
- Initial call with Talent Acquisition Specialist - During this call you'll learn about the company and we learn about you. We'll talk about your experience & expectations with working in a fully remote environment and we'll talk about your expertise. We'll finish this call with some admin questions. There will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions as well.
- After the initial call, usually 1 or 2 interviews with the hiring team follows. These interviews will be a bit more technical and will go deeper into your experience, skills & knowledge. As you would have signed an NDA by now, you'll also learn a bit more about the project you would work on. During these interviews we'll also focus on finding out whether you're a good fit for our company culture and that we share the same values.
- We may or may not ask you to do the test - this is decided on an individual basis and you will receive instructions with the test.
- If everything goes well, the last step in the recruitment process is the offer presentation call with the Talent Acquisition Specialist and your future line manager to discuss the offer and next steps to get you successfully on board.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience working in game development.
- Proficient in using test management applications (e.g.,TestRail, Xray).
- Familiarity with bug management tools (e.g., Jira, ClickUp).
- Experience with testing on PC, Xbox X/S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
- Ability to communicate fluidly in English (speaking, writing) within a multicultural team.
- Strong proactive approach to recognizing priorities and collaborating effectively.
- Previous experience working on a project during and following a release cycle., * Past experience in hardware Compatibility
- Experience with compliance or accessibility testing.
- Familiarity with the Soulslike genre.
